Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 August 2026
These terms govern the medical consultations offered through mydoctorinbrazil.com. By booking an appointment, you agree to them. Please read them before you book.
This is not an emergency service. If you are facing a medical emergency in Brazil — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening situation — call 192 (SAMU) or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Do not wait for an online appointment.
1. Who provides the service
The service is contracted with Dreisbach Serviços Médicos Ltda (CNPJ 51.971.709/0001-75). Consultations are provided personally by Dr. Björn Dreisbach (CRM-MG 72953 | RQE 63708) and Dr. Gabriela Gonçalves Dreisbach (CRM-MG 74266 | RQE 69192), physicians licensed to practise in Brazil. Their registration can be verified with the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine at portal.cfm.org.br.
Care is delivered as telemedicine, in accordance with Brazilian law and the rules of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM).
2. What the service includes
A scheduled consultation by secure video call, in English, German or Portuguese, in which the physician evaluates your situation, explains their assessment and recommends a course of action. Everything that happens during and after the consultation follows the physician's sole professional judgement and Brazilian medical regulations.
3. Clinical limits of an online consultation
- The physician decides, based on clinical criteria alone, what can be safely handled remotely.
- If your situation requires physical examination, tests, in-person care or emergency treatment, the physician will tell you and guide you to the appropriate service. This is a proper outcome of the consultation, not a failure of it.
- No diagnosis, treatment or specific result is promised or guaranteed by booking.
- You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about your health. Incomplete or inaccurate information limits what the physician can safely conclude.
4. Booking, payment and prices
Appointments are booked and paid online through our scheduling provider. Prices are displayed at the time of booking and charged in Brazilian reais (BRL); if you pay with a card issued abroad, the final amount in your currency depends on your bank's exchange rate and fees. You will receive an official invoice, available in English, German or Portuguese, which you may submit to your travel or health insurance. Consultations are provided on a private basis; we do not bill insurers directly, and reimbursement depends entirely on your insurer's own rules.
5. Cancellations, rescheduling and no-shows
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible through the details in your booking confirmation or by WhatsApp, so the time can be offered to another patient. Cancellation and refund conditions are those presented to you during the booking process. If the physician needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you will be offered a new time or a full refund, at your choice.
6. What you need on your side
A device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private place where you can speak comfortably. If a call fails for technical reasons on our side, we will reschedule it or refund it. Interruptions caused by your own connection or device may not allow the consultation to be completed.
7. Medical confidentiality and your data
Everything discussed is covered by medical confidentiality. How we handle your personal and health data is described in our Privacy Policy. Recording the consultation — by either side — is not permitted without the express agreement of both.
8. Independence
The physicians have no commercial relationship with any laboratory, manufacturer or retailer, and receive no commission for anything they may recommend during your care. Clinical decisions are made on medical grounds alone.
9. Liability
The physicians commit to the standard of care and diligence required of their profession, but no medical service can guarantee an outcome. We are not liable for consequences arising from information you withheld or reported incorrectly, from failure to follow the guidance given, or from interruptions of third-party services (internet providers, video platform, scheduling and payment provider) that are beyond our control.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the current version. The terms in force at the time of your booking are the ones that apply to that appointment.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Brazilian law, including the Consumer Protection Code where applicable. Any dispute will be resolved before the courts of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
